Prescription medication may have played a role in Prince’s death as authorities found the medicine at his Minnesota home.
Officials are yet to reveal whether the medication played a role in the pop star’s sudden death last Friday.
The county sheriff investigating his death has approached the Drug Enforcement Administration to determine why Prince was in possession of the medicine and what they were meant to treat.
Prince’s autopsy was completed last Saturday and revealed there were “no obvious signs of trauma” and “no reason to believe at this point that this was a suicide.”
The complete report to determine the pop artist’s cause of death will likely take several weeks to be completed.
TMZ, who broke Prince’s death, reported he had been a regular user of a pain killer called Percocet since 2009 to ease chronic hip pain.
