George Clooney Involved In Motorbike Crash

American actor George Clooney has been involved in a motorbike crash in Italy.

The father of two is currently in Italy shooting his new mini-series Catch 22. Not only is he acting in it, he will also be the director and the executive producer.

Clooney was traveling along a state road through the residential village of Costa Corallina when a Mercedes collided with his Yamaha TMAX.

The local police have told America’s NBC that the accident occurred around 8:15am local time when the driver of the Mercedes allegedly did not “respect the right of way,” cutting into the star’s path and hitting him. The driver stopped to called an ambulance, which brought Clooney to John Paul II hospital in Olbia.George Clooney

The two-time Oscar winner didn’t spend much time in hospital before being discharged. According to Italian media, Clooney suffered slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one knee and arm. He also reportedly underwent an MRI and will be monitored on an outpatient basis for 20 days.

His wife Amal Clooney rushed to his side. Once the 57-year-old was given the all clear, the couple left the hospital together in a private car.

A representative for Clooney tells PEOPLE, “George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital. He is recovering at home and will be fine.”
