Rugrats Will Return With New Series And Live-Action Movie

Rugrats

The Rugrats are making a comeback after 14 years.

Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures have announced a huge relaunch of the Rugrats, which is set to include a new animated series with 26 episodes and a live-action film.

Both the series and film will see the return of the main crew of lovable tots: Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie and Angelica. A new character will also be introduced.

The original creators of the show Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó and Paul Germain are on board. The film will be written by David Goodman, which is set to be released on November 13, 2020.

“Rugrats is hands-down one of the most celebrated cartoons in TV history, and we are thrilled for a whole new audience to meet these iconic characters in brand-new adventures,” said COO of Viacom Media Networks and interim president of Nickelodeon, Sarah Levy.

“What was true in 1991 when the original show premiered is still true today: kids are fascinated with the world of babies. We can’t wait for today’s kids to meet Tommy, Chuckie and pals.”

Rugrats isn’t the only Nickelodeon classic set to make a comeback. Popular 90s loveable blue dog “Blue” from Blue’s Clues is said to also return in the future, as well as many more shows.
