TMZ reports that the six-acre estate will be on sale within the next month.
The 29-room mansion, built in 1927, includes a wine cellar, a screening room, a game room, three zoo and aviary buildings, a koi pond, a citrus orchard, tennis and basketball courts, a swimming pool and a waterfall.
The one catch with the place however, is that the buyer will be required to provide the Playboy founder with a life estate which would allow him to live out his days in his infamous mansion.
Buyers have been warned against buying the property as a comparable lot in the area recently sold for $60 million, with the mansion’s reputation possibly pushing the price to $90 million.
Reportedly, the mansion is in a state of decay and disrepair with real estate noting that “the house is a tear-down and the real value is the acreage.”
A tour can be arranged for prospective buyers with Hefner’s master suite being off-limits.
Playboy Enterprises purchased the mansion in 1971 with $15 million dedicated to repairs and renovations over the years.
