Founding Member of The Wanted Dead at 33

Tom Parker Dead at 33

Tom Parker unfortunately died last week, two years after his inoperable grade 4 glioblastoma diagnosis. He was 33. Glioblastoma is the most aggressive type of cancer and begins in the brain.

Parker’s death comes after a positive 2021, which saw positive signs for the pop singer. Taking to social media to let fans know about the reduced size of his brain tumour in January. Posting on social media again in November of the same year that the tumour had stabilised, “had the results from my latest scan … and I’m delighted to say it is stable,” Tweeted Parker.

However, despite Parker being positive about the stability of his cancer, he ultimately passed away due to complications. The news of his untimely death was made public on the official Instagram page of The Wanted. Generating close to 500,000 likes since being posted.

Parkers wife Kelsey also took to Instagram to speak about her late husband’s death:

“We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children. Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you,” posted Kelsey.

It was reported that prior to his diagnosis, Parker was embarking on a solo career following the hiatus of The Wanted. Whether or not posthumous music will be released is still unclear.
