Shades of Blue

Shades of BlueDespite her busy schedule, Jennifer Lopez will be back for a second season of her rookie cop series Shades of Blue.

NBC announced the second season on Friday after some aggressive time-shifting since the network’s troubled time of 10pm Thursdays.

NBC entertainment president, Jennifer Salke said “we’re so excited to find out where this story will lead.”

Lopez meanwhile is juggling several different projects including her full-time job as a judge on American Idol, and a newly launched Las Vegas concert residency.

The Shades of Blue project was announced as a straight-to-series pickup nearly two years ago and is co-produced by Lopez and Ryan Seacrest.

On the show, Lopez plays a crooked cop who turns into an FBI informant alongside co-stars Ray Liotta and Drea de Matteo.

Shades of Blue marks one of the many renewed dramas for 2016 and 2017 on the NBC network, including SVU, Chicago Med, The Blacklist and Blindspot.
