REVIEW: Logan

Logan

The latest and last Wolverine movie Logan was just released this month and there was so much hype about it but it definitely didn’t disappoint. I went along to see it with my fellow superhero fan…my dad.

I now tend to go into movies with low expectations when they have such a hype around them, but this was an outstanding film. It kept my attention the whole way through. It’s nearly a two and half hour movie but that time is needed for you to fall in love with the characters and the storyline.

As always, Hugh Jackman did an outstanding job. Even if a movie is said to be horrible but it has Hugh Jackman in it, I’ll watch it. I just love him as a person and as an actor. Hugh, once again, bulked up for the return of Wolverine and ladies, even if you aren’t a fan of superhero movies, watch this film just for the eye candy. You will thank me later.

Logan

Dafne Keen, who plays Logan’s daughter and new mutant Laura, was cast very well. I’m amazed that she is only 11 years old. I think she is going to accomplish amazing things in the future. She doesn’t speak for about ¾ of this film but she has done it well. There were times where it got quite annoying but overall, she’s a great little actor. This was a perfect father daughter movie so kids, I’d recommend to see it with your dad too.

Logan

A lot of people die in this movie, but it still has an impeccable storyline. The writers have done very well. It is the perfect way for Hugh Jackman to hang up his claws and finish the story of Wolverine. I won’t ruin the ending for you, however it is done in a way where the daughter could even continue on now and do other Wolverine movies. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Logan

In conclusion, if you don’t like superhero movies, it is most likely not going to be your cup of tea but I’d still recommend to see it with your family. Have a fun night out watching a buff Hugh Jackman kicking butt and protecting his daughter.

Positives:

  • Amazing and intriguing storyline
  • Casted well
  • A hot muscular Hugh Jackman. Need I say more?!
  • Has a great loving family element to it
  • Perfect way for Hugh Jackman to finish the story of Wolverine

Negatives:

  • Not your cup of tea if you don’t like superhero movies
  • Sad ending (not going to spoil it for you though)
  • Dafne Keen, who plays Logan’s daughter and new mutant Laura, doesn’t speak for about ¾ of the movie

Rating: 9/10
