God of Krypton Vs Bat of Gotham
When I first heard that this movie was coming out, I was thinking “How could Batman beat Superman?” Well I’m not going to spoil it for you, but it wasn’t what I thought it would be. There were many positives and negatives to this film. First of all, the movie goes for just over two and half hours and takes a long time to properly get started. Batman and Superman don’t even properly meet each other until roughly 45 minutes into the film.
At the beginning of the movie, there is a slow motion recap of the death of Bruce Wayne’s parents, which is a great idea for those viewers who aren’t familiar with his backstory. The special effects are also incredible. Even though we know that it is all fake, it seems real.
The funny thing with this movie is I didn’t know who’s side to be on. I absolutely love Henry Cavill as Superman but I must say, even though Ben Affleck did a great job too, I missed Christian Bale as Batman. I feel like his version of Batman is more believable. I bet you’re also still wondering how Batman can possibly beat Superman. Well, a new metal Batsuit certainly helps, as well as the introduction of a new Batmobile and Batplane.
Actress Gal Gabot plays Wonder Woman. I’ve only ever seen her in the Fast and The Furious movies so it was a nice change. She plays a strong and sexy woman, who is the real starting point of Justice League.
Director Zack Snyder has revealed that he will begin filming the new Justice League movie in April this year, and Batman will be the one to unite the team. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder briefly introduces Aqua Man and Flash, so we should be able to look forward to seeing them more in the next film.
It is also great to see the return of old characters from the Superman movie like Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White. Lois and Clark Kent are still very much in love and are currently living together, but Lois also turns into Clark’s damsel in distress throughout the movie. No surprise there, right?
One of my favourite characters was definitely Lex Luthor. Jesse Eisenberg did a superb job portraying this character. He kind of played Lex as a crazy joker type. I think he may have taken a page from Heath Ledger’s book, but who cares? I still loved it. His acting is spectacular and he was definitely a stand out.
Overall, I think this is a great movie to watch when you have a few hours free. You will especially love and appreciate it if you are a superhero fan. To no surprise, the film ends on a cliff-hanger, and just to let you know, there is no quick sneak peak of the next film after the credits roll at the end. When I saw the movie, the entire cinema stayed behind to watch the clip but it never came, which was disappointing but I thought I would help you at least save some time.
