Blink-182 have dominated the pop-punk scene for over 25 years since the release of their debut album, Chesire Cat, with pop hits such as All the Small Things and Adam’s Song. Under their belt, the band have sold over 50 million albums worldwide.

In June of 2021 however, co-lead vocalist and bassist of the band, Mark Hoppus was diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy for three months, at that point.

Hoppus was the first to make self-deprecating jokes about his situation, posting on his Instagram story a picture of him at his first cancer treatment with the caption, “Yes Hello, One cancer treatment, please.”

The bassist was far more open and honest on Twitter however, posting a picture with a short paragraph, with excerpts such as, “I have cancer. It sucks and I’m scared” and on a more positive note, “I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.”

Yesterday however, was a new day for Hoppus who let his fans know via an Instagram post that he is now cancer free.

Excerpts from the post read, “Just saw my oncologist and I’m cancer free!!

Hoppus has long been open about his faith and this resonated through the post by him thanking God for his cancer remission.

“Thank you God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love,” said Hoppus.

Hoppus ended the post by asking if he can get a W in the chat, signifying that he won.

Celebrity friends came out in droves and commented their support for Hoppus who has openly been documenting his cancer journey.

OneRepublic front man, Ryan Tedder listened to Hoppus and his calls for W’s and commented 10 consecutive W’s.

While comedian and Pitch Perfect star Adam Devine, who has been extremely open about all four of his grandparents being diagnosed with cancer, commented, “Agghhhghh!!! YES!!! Thank God! congrats buddy! Best feeling in the world. Enjoy it!!!!

The post garnered 406,000 likes is less than a day with over 55,000 comments of support to Hoppus and his family.
