Drummer From School Of Rock Dies

Kevin Clark

Who remembers the kid that played Freddy in the School of Rock movie?

Well, Kevin Clark has unfortunately passed away at the age of 32, after being hit by a car while riding his bike in Chicago last week.

Jack Black, who also appeared in the film, was “heartbroken” after hearing the news, and co-star Miranda Cosgrove was “stunned and saddened.”

Kevin was only 12 when he appeared in the movie, becoming his only film role.

Chicago police have released a statement saying, “The bicyclist has been identified as a 32-year-old male. He was pronounced [dead] at Illinois Masonic at 2:04 am. The person at fault has not been determined at this time and the crash is under investigation by Area Five Detectives.”

School Of Rock became a huge success when it was released back in 2003, and is all about a struggling guitarist (Jack Black), who suddenly becomes a teacher, and proceeds to form a band with his students.

Kevin Clark played Freddy Jones, a rebellious drummer. He then became a drummer for numerous bands afterwards.

He had only recently started a new band and played their first live gig last weekend.

It was noted that the area where he was hit was a “notoriously dangerous intersection.”

Jack Black posted via Instagram, “Devastating news. Kevin is gone. Way too soon. Beautiful soul.”

Miranda Cosgrove also wrote “I’ll always remember your spirit and how kind you were to me.”

These weren’t the only cast members to pay tribute.

Rivkah Reyes who played Katie, the bassist in the film stated, “I will never forget your hugs and your laugh and the sheer joy on your face when we’d run into each other in Chicago.”

Brian Falduto who was Billy, the costume designer wrote, “So, so much love to you, you wickedly talented & wonderfully kind man.”
