Jurassic World: Dominion Prologue

The Jurassic World films, which are set in the same movie universe as the original Jurassic Park trilogy, is getting a new instalment in 2022. This will see the return of Colin Trevorrow in the director’s chair, as well as the return of franchise stars, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The original trilogy’s stars, Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum will also reprise their iconic roles.

The latest film, Jurassic World: Dominion, which is set for release on June 10, 2022, was given a prologue which was uploaded to YouTube last week. It gives fans an look into the world four years after the events of the previous film.

The five-minute video, entitled The Prologue: Jurassic World Dominion, showcases footage of dinosaurs roaming about and living their everyday lives, a tense battle between two Tyrannosaurus Rex takes place and showcases the carnage of a world before humans.

The prologue then fast forwards to 65 million years later to the present day and shows a group of attendees at a drive-in movie theatre under attack by a Tyrannosaurus Rex. This offers a glimpse into the premise of the new film, which was introduced in Jurassic world: Fallen Kingdom, that a neo-Jurassic Age has begun and that humans and dinosaurs must now coexist.

The Prologue: Jurassic World Dominion visualises the true realities of this harsh coexistence and lays the foundation of what the world of Jurassic World: Dominion will actually entail for Owen Grady, played by Chris Pratt and Claire Dearing, played by Bryce Dallas Howard.

The prologued has racked up an impressive 2.4 million views on YouTube, at the time of writing, with over 81,000 likes on the video and over 6,400 comments from excited fans.

Executive producer, Frank Marshall, has reportedly made it clear that the Jurassic World films will not end as a trilogy. Instead, Jurassic World: Dominion will enable the writers to focus on a new era of storytelling for the franchise and place focus on the issue of humans having to coexist with dinosaurs.
