Family Feud Wraps Up Filming

Family Feud

The survey says…it’s all over!

Four years after its revision from 1977-1996, Family Feud is unfortunately wrapping up.

Host Grant Denyer made an official announcement on 2DayFM’s breakfast show saying, “It’s obviously been a huge success for myself and for Ten for four years. We only thought we’d get two years out of it so it was really lovely to stretch it to four.”

He posted on Twitter that hosting the game show had been “a wickedly wonderful pleasure having that much fun.”

Denyer will have hosted a total of 1200 episodes by the time the show ceases production. In recent times, Family Feud had started to drop in ratings and it’s believed that Network 10 ‘over-aired’ the program.

“We’re probably guilty, if anything, of driving it into the ground a little too early,” Denyer continued. “Six days a week, twice a day, plus All Star episodes, we might have squeezed that lemon a bit too much.”

He credited Family Feud for not only bringing Network 10 back into the ratings game, but also bringing life back into his television career, claiming it re-birthed him and reinvigorated the 6pm time slot.

It’s not the end for Denyer though. According to reports, an Australian version of the U.K quiz show, Pointless could be in living rooms next.
