Sir Elton John has just announced he will be touring Australia this year.

This September, the British singer’s Once In A Lifetime tour will hit Mackay and Cairns, Queensland and Wollongong, New South Wales.

John released a statement saying he is looking forward to returning to Australia.

“I always love coming back to Australia. It holds a very special place in my heart, ever since my first visit there at the start of my worldwide career in 1971,” he said.

“This tour will be even more memorable because it will be the first time I have ever played Mackay and Cairns… which I can’t believe, but there you have it.”

The last time the Grammy award winning singer toured Australia was in late 2015.

His band includes drummer Nigel Olsson, musical director Davey Johnstone on guitar, John Mahon on percussion, Matt Bisonette on bass and Kim Bullard on keyboards.

He will perform iconic hits from his 50-year career, as well as a selection of songs from his album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

General public tickets will go on sale on March 14 and fans can visit www.chuggentertainment.com to sign up for pre-sales and more information.
