Elizabeth Olsen Reportedly Extends Her Marvel Contract

Elizabeth Olsen Extends Her MCU Contract

The actress behind the iconic MCU character, Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch, Elizabeth Olsen, is currently riding high after the critical and commercial success of 2021’s WandaVision.

Olsen began her career in the MCU with 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, continuing her role as Wanda in Captain America: Civil War and The Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, bringing her time in the MCU to just over seven years.

Nevertheless, it is reported that Olsen has extended her contract a further seven years, which means Olsen will be playing Wanda for 14 years in the MCU.

With her next big role being a supporting role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it is only safe to assume that Olsen could finally be getting her long awaited solo film.

The seven year contract extension could potentially also mean more seasons of WandaVision, as well as further inclusions in Phase 4 of the MCU.

Whether or not we will see a series of Wanda films is still unknown, however, it is safe to assume that Olsen’s future in the MCU is certainly set in stone, with her character possibly becoming a pivotal player in the MCU since she is one of the final remaining original Avengers following the events of Avengers: Infinity War.

One thing is certain, the role of Wanda aka Scarlet Witch has given Olsen the recognition she deserves as an actress, with WandaVision giving Olsen her first Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nomination.
