Australian actor Craig McLachlan has been charged with a number of sex offences including indecent assault. 

The 53-year-old has been charged with one count of common law assault, one count of attempted indecent assault and eight counts of committing indecent assault.

McLachlan’s spokesperson has made a statement saying, “Craig is innocent of all these charges which will be vigorously defended.”

The actors’ career spans across many works including appearing on Neighbours as the brother of Kylie Minogue’s character (Charlene), Henry Ramsay. He appeared in over 800 episodes before winning the Gold Logie for ‘Most Popular TV Personality.’

In 2013, McLachlan was cast as Frank N Furter in the stage production of the Rocky Horror Show while it was touring Australia. In 2018, he was accused of inappropriate behaviour by several female co-stars.

McLachlan is fighting the claims made against him and is summoned to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on February 8.
