Chris Rock To Return To Australia For Comedy Tour

Chris Rock's 2022 Australian Tour

Stand-up comedian Chris Rock is set to return to Australia for the first time since 2017 with his Ego Death World Tour.

The nation wide tour is set to take place in August of 2022, with the first show taking place on August 10 at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena, and the rest of the scheduled shows seeing Rock travel to Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The former SNL star took to Instagram to announce the tour:

“Ego Death World Tour 2022, all new material, introspective, very personal and very funny,” said Rock.

President of TEG Dainty, Paul Dainty; the company promoting Rock’s tour; is very excited about the upcoming August shows and highlighted his thoughts in an official press release.

“It’s fantastic to announce that Chris Rock is bringing his Ego Death World Tour to Australia this August! He’s in a class of his own, and nothing beats witnessing his genius unfolding in real time, in a live arena,” said Dainty.

Rock is currently set to star in the upcoming drama Rustin, about the life of civil rights and gay activist Bayard Rustin, who will be played by Colmon Domingo. Rock is set to star as former President of the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP), Roy Wilkins.

This is not Rock’s first venture away from comedy, but it will undoubtedly be his most drastic foray into the world of dramatic acting.
