Actor and stuntman Johann Ofner has died while filming a Bliss n Eso music video in Brisbane.
The incident occurred inside the Brooklyn Standard bar, which is currently still being treated as a crime scene.
A number of firearms were used during this particular scene in the video clip. According to Bliss n Eso management, the prop gun was loaded with blanks and not live ammunition, so Police are investigating how exactly the 28-year-old came to be fatally injured to his chest.
Bliss n Eso management also confirmed the band were not on site at the time of the shooting.
A licensed armourer was on location and monitoring the imitation, two hand guns and shot gun on site.
“We are devastated about the tragic passing of Johann Ofner. Out of respect to Johann’s family, friends and the on-going investigation we don’t feel it is appropriate for us to make further comment at this time. We chose not to disclose Johann’s details yesterday to ensure police had time to contact his family and friends, however this information is now clearly in the public forum. We continue to express our support and condolences to the family and friends of those so deeply affected by this sad event and appreciate your on-going understanding in this incredibly difficult time.” – The band posted on Facebook.
Ofner was due to compete in the upcoming season of Australian Ninja Warrior.
