2020 Billboard Music Awards

Billboard Music Awards 2020

Several artists made history at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, which were held on October 14 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

For the third year in a row, Kelly Clarkson hosted the awards ceremony, which was scheduled to be held on April 29, but was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Post Malone won nine awards, including Artist of the Year, making him the biggest winner of the night.

Billie Eilish, 18, won the award for Top Billboard 200 Album for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? nine months after it won the Grammy award for Album of the Year. It is the fourth album in the past ten years to win both awards. Eilish is the first female artist in history to win as a new artist since Lorde in 2014.

Khalid was the second biggest winner, taking out five awards. Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus won four awards, each for their collaboration for the record-setting Old Town Road (Remix) and Kanye West won four awards in the Christian and Gospel fields.

Country music star Luke Combs became the first artist to win back-to-back awards in the top Country Artist category since the show’s relaunch in 2011.

K-pop sensations BTS won the Top Social Artist award for the fourth year in a row. This award is voted by fans.

Kanye West’s album Jesus is King won Top Gospel album and Top Christian album. He is the first artist to win in both categories.

Three years after winning the Top Hot 100 song for Despacito, a collaboration with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, Justin Bieber won the award for 10,000 hours, which he collaborated with Dan + Shay.

The Chainsmokers won a record fourth consecutive award for Top Dance/Electronic Artist.
