Channel 10 Reveals Next Season’s Bachelor

2021 Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson

Channel 10 has announced that Sydney pilot Jimmy Nicholson will be gracing our screens in the upcoming season of reality TV series, The Bachelor, which began filming just last week.

The 31-year-old, who is of New Zealand and Fijian heritage, is a “self-confessed romantic,” according to the network’s official announcement, and is a “passionate go-getter who is ready to find his happily ever after.”

Besides a short stint of modelling on The Price is Right, Jimmy is a fresh face for the 2021 season after a trend of casting people from the past contestant pool and other reality television programs such as last season’s ex-Survivor star Locky Gilbert.

The network also said Jimmy decided to apply to be the next Bachie when he found himself with more free time after the COVID-19 pandemic grounded most airline services.

On being the next Bachelor, Jimmy said he was a big believer in embracing any opportunity that presents itself, especially if it has the potential to change your life for the better.

“The journey ahead will be one of the most challenging experiences that I have ever undertaken, however I am very excited to meet someone that I could potentially spend the rest of my life with,” he said.

Bachelor host Osher Gunsberg has issued a warm welcome to Jimmy over an Insta post, writing: “Get ready to soar with airline pilot @jimmynicholson as he navigates the turbulent skies of love searching for his co-pilot in life. And yes, he’s as dreamy as you think he is.”
