All Spice Girls On Board For Movie Remake

Spice Girls

It’s been 22 years since the release of the ultimate girl power movie, Spice World, and we’re set for an animated remake in 2020.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, all five Spice Girls are on board and ready to bring girl power back to the silver screen including Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice.

Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria says the animated movie is in early development and that the Spice Girls “had an idea that we’ve been developing.” The film will feature classic Spice Girls bops as well as new songs.

The band’s manager Simon Fuller is set to produce the movie and Karan McCullah and Kiwi Smith will write the screenplay. McCullah wrote the original screenplay for Spice World. While there is not an idea set in stone, there’s no doubt the theme will be girl power.

The major news comes as a time where the Spice Girls are truly having a global moment. Geri Halliwell (Ginger), Mel B (Scary), Mel C (Sporty) and Emma Bunton (Baby) have just finished their month-long reunion tour in Ireland, Wales, Scotland and the United Kingdom. They ended with their final three shows at Wembley Stadium. Beckham did not join the four original members due to other commitments.
