The multi-talented Australian artist Missy Higgins will launch her fifth studio album in May, six years since her last original work. Solastalgia puts an end to the fans’ wait for new projects. Following the launch, Higgins will perform several concerts across the country.
The tour will start in Brisbane on May 4, and then it will move on to Toowoomba, Wollongong, Sydney, Canberra and Adelaide, before the special show in her hometown, Melbourne, on May 13. Special guest Gordi will play alongside her at all of the shows.
After the success of her albums The Sound of White, On A Clear Night and the Ol’ Razzle Dazzle, all acclaimed by the critics, Higgins released OZ, a collection of Aussie cover versions accompanied by a quirky book of related essays. Her productions have sold more than two million copies worldwide. She is also a five-time chart-topper and a nine-time ARIA Award winner.
According to the artist, her latest album is different from her previous ones, but the songs will fit perfectly with her old material. She also promised surprises for the fans.
“I’m so excited to finally road-test my new tunes in all these beautiful venues across the country.”
She also stated there will be strong female participation.
“There are a lot of female harmonies in the new material, so I’m glad we’re gonna have four amazing women on stage belting them out!” she said.
