New Album And Tour For Lee Kernaghan

Lee Kernaghan

After months of waiting, country music superstar Lee Kernaghan has released his newest album and is started a new tour.

Backroad Nation, Lee’s 17th studio album, was fully released on May 10 through ABC Music. The release followed a sneak peak of two songs, Backroad Nation and Wheels, and their accompanying music videos.

The epic new album was produced by Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter Lindsay Rimes, who has worked with stars such as Kane Brown, Kylie Minogue and LoCash.

Backroad Nation is about feeling that good vibration when you get off the beaten track and the country wraps itself around you. My absolute passion in life is to sing about us, our country, our way of life and that’s what the new album is all about,” Lee said, describing this release.

“Much of the inspiration for the songs has come from the people I’ve met and the places I’ve travelled to.”

“From Alice Springs to the Deni Ute Muster, from the mighty Pilbara region in WA to backroads Queensland and everywhere in between.”

“This album has taken me to places I haven’t been before musically,” he went on to say.

“I’ve pushed every element of this record to the absolute limits and have collaborated with some of the finest writers and music makers in the world today.”

Some of the people Lee collaborated with for the album include ARIA Hall of Famer Garth Porter (executive producer) and hit songwriters Colin Buchanan, Lindsay Rimes, Phil Barton and Nick Wolfe.

Lee said that all of these people played an integral part in the song writing journey for this release.

“I love this album. Every song is a true story and telling it how it is and keeping it authentic was always my number one intention.”

Coinciding with the release of his new album, Lee announced that The Backroad Nation Tour would kick off on May 11 and will see him play 48 concert events, Australia-wide, throughout 2019.

Lee will be joined by multi Golden Guitar winners The Wolfe Brothers, along with CMC’s Female Artist of the Year and Golden Guitar Winner Christie Lamb. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
