David Bowie’s Labyrinth Reboot in the Works

David Bowie's Labyrinth

David Bowie's LabyrinthThe last film directed by Jim Henson and a cult classic, Labyrinth (1986) is set to receive a reboot after the death of David Bowie earlier this month.

Co-writer of Guardians of the Galaxy, Nicole Perlman is set to helm the script so that the 21st century reboot will be in the experienced hands of someone familiar with the bizarre and out-of-this-world.

The iconic film followed the story of a teenage girl (Jennifer Connelly) who has to rescue her brother from the Goblin King’s (David Bowie) maze.

It is unclear at this stage if the plot of the new film will follow its predecessor or receive a modern update.

Originally, Labyrinth was not an over-achiever at the box office and caused Henson to quit his directing career, but has since become a fan favourite.

The news of the reboot came less than two weeks after Bowie’s death on January 10 at the age of 69 after a long battle with cancer.
