House of Cards Season 6 Production Suspended

House of Cards

Production on Season 6 of House of Cards has been suspended, in light of recent sexual assault allegations against Kevin Spacey.

Companies MRC and Netflix released a statement announcing the suspension.

“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on ‘House of Cards’ season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,” they said.

The sixth season was in production in Baltimore.

Yesterday, the companies announced that it would be the last for the series.

“Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey,” a statement read.

They had sent executives to Baltimore on Monday to meet with cast and crew after actor Anthony Rapp said in an interview that Spacey had sexually assaulted him when he was 14-years-old.

Sources say the companies decided to shut down given the intense scrutiny on the show stirred up after the news.
