Ewan McGregor’s wife finds their divorce disappointing.
The 46-year-old actor cited “irreconcilable differences” in ending his 22-year marriage to 51-year-old production designer Eve Mavrakis.
McGregor left Mavrakis for actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 33, who played his lover on the TV show Fargo.
“It’s disappointing and upsetting but my main concern is our four children are OK,” Mavrakis said.
McGregor seeks joint custody of the three youngest children and Mavrakis wants solecare, with visiting rights for him. She has hired a lawyer.
She previously spoke out after McGregor thanked both her and his new lover during his Golden Globes acceptance speech.
“I want to take a moment to say thank you to Eve, who always stood by me for 22 years. To my four children, Clara, Ester, Jamyan and Anouk, I love you,” he said, accepting the Best Actor in a Limited Series award.
He then went on to say how he wouldn’t have won the role if it wasn’t for his co-star and new lover, Mary.
“There would be no Ray without Mary Elizabeth Winstead. So thank you very much.”
Mavrakis said she did not like his speech.
“For the same reasons you are here asking me about it. I am not going to say anymore,” she said when asked why.
