Ethan Karpathy has left In Stereo after three years.
The 17 year-old announced his departure from the band in an Instagram post yesterday.
“After almost 3 great years of In Stereo, I am oficially moving on. The many experiences had with Chris and Jakob along the way, I believe have shaped us into the mates and musicians we are today, and I am thankful for the drive and passion we shared that pushed us from one big thing to the next,” he said in the caption.
“Special thanks to all our dedicated and loyal followers who backed the boys and I during the In Stereo Journey. I’ll be eternally grateful for the team behind In Stereo and my family who were right alongside me through every step.”
He posted three photos from his time with the band.
The group also made the announcement on their Facebook page.
“Ethan Karpathy has decided to leave In Stereo. We have spent three memorable years with Ethan and he will be missed. We respect his decision and wish him the best for the future.”
Karpathy rose to fame on Channel Nine’s The Voice Kids in 2014 where he was coached by Delta Goodrem and captured the hearts of teenagers all around Australia with his big brown eyes, wide toothy grin, grey beanie and amazing performance of Ed Sheeran’s Give Me Love.
He then auditioned for the X-Factor with Chris Lanzon and Jakob Delgado as In Stereo in 2015. They were mentored by Guy Sebastian and placed eighth in the competition.
For the past three years, Ethan has performed alongside Chris and Jakob with great passion and energy and been so kind to everyone he has met.
Chris and Jakob will be continuing as a duo.
Ethan Karpathy will be greatly missed by all of the fans who wish him all the best.
