Emily Blunt Asked Husband To Fire Friend For Movie Role

Emily Blunt & John Krasinski

Emily Blunt revealed on The Graham Norton Show recently that she forced her husband to fire a rival actress to allow her to appear in his film, A Quiet Place.

Blunt said she wasn’t initially interested in starring in the film her husband, John Krasinski directed and co-written so she suggested that a friend of hers take the role instead.

“We had just had our second child and I was about to do Mary Poppins and so I was in a general feeling of joy, I didn’t know if I wanted to go towards the darkness of the pitch that he’d given me,” she said.

Despite Krasinski’s call to the actress, as soon as Blunt read the script, she approached her husband and said “you need to call her and fire her.”

She defended herself saying, “You didn’t send her a script admittedly. She wasn’t sort of hired.”

The Mary Poppins sequel will be in theatres in December 2018.
