Glam rock artist, Elton John has extended his Australian leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
The 72-year-old announced last Friday that he would be adding six extra dates to his string of sell-out shows. The new dates have been added for Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Coffs Harbour, Townsville and the Sunshine Coast.
This makes his Australian leg span five months, starting in Perth in November and ending in Sydney in March 2020. John is set to perform an amazing 32 shows in Australia alone before moving on to New Zealand.
Promoter Michael Chugg said, “We’re thrilled to be adding even more dates to Elton’s final tour.
“Demand has been absolutely incredible, we know the Rocketman is going to create magic memories for Australia and New Zealand when he arrives later this year.”
John’s Sydney show will be held at the newly built Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta making him the first musical artist to perform there.
The singer is currently riding the amazing success of his new biopic, Rocketman. The film showcases John’s life including his battle with addiction and the relationships with the people in his life.
Tickets for Elton John’s newly released tour dates go on sale on June 25 through Ticketek.
