Chris Evans To Retire From Captain America Role

Chris Evans As Captain America

Actor Chris Evans is giving up on the role he has played for eight years.

Evans first played Captain America in the first Marvel film, Captain America: The First Avenger and reprised the role in nine more movies.

He portrayed one of the original Avengers alongside Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye.

The actor has finished filming Avengers 4 and tweeted that playing Captain America has been an honour.

Chris Evan’s retirement from playing the character isn’t a surprise. Many of the main actors in the Avengers are out of contract after Avengers 4.

“You want to get off the train before they push you off,” he previously said.

Captain America is the second comic book character that he has played. He was also the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies alongside Jessica Alba.
