Black Panther has been a huge success among critics and fans.
The Marvel production, starring Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan, earned more than $200 million on its first weekend in the US, making the film the best February opening weekend.
The movie also broke a couple more records on its first weekend; the biggest non-sequel opening and the biggest-grossing movie directed by a black filmmaker.
The film has earned $704 million worldwide so far. More than $400 million comes only from the US, and the expectation is that the production reaches $1 billion after being opened in Japan and China.
It looks like the fans are still keen to watch Black Panther in the cinemas. Just three other movies earned more than $100 million in their second weekend: Star Wars Force Awakens, Jurassic World and The Avengers.
According to Forbes, Black Panther already holds some records: the second biggest comic book superhero opening weekend (after The Avengers), the second-biggest Sunday gross (after The Force Awakens) and fifth biggest opening weekend of all time (after Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, Jurassic World and The Avengers in descending order).
