The former president of the United States of America, Barack Obama will visit Australia and New Zealand in March.
The politician served two terms between 2008 and 2016. Obama is expected to speak in Auckland on March 22, then he will move on to Sydney, where he will deliver a speech on March 23 at the Art Gallery of NSW for 350 guests.
It is still unclear if there will be ticket sales for the event and what Obama will speak about. There is also the possibility of Obama meeting the Prime Minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull, but this information has not been confirmed yet.
The event is being hosted by the New Zealand United States Council, an organisation that aims to improve commercial, cultural and diplomatic relations between the US and New Zealand. During his presidency, Obama strengthened the relationship with Australia and New Zealand by promoting trade and economic cooperation, besides stimulating political and cultural links.
