Last week, we reported that Avengers: Infinity War beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the box office. Well, the hero-filled film surpassed the billion dollar mark over the weekend.
The achievement sets a record for fastest film to rake in $1 billion, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens currently holding the top title with 12 days.
The star-studded film reached $US 975 million over Friday and Saturday, with $US 70 million raked in on Friday alone. Walt Disney Co. said that the studio is confident it will reach $US 1 billion.
Ask and you shall receive, as of now, Avengers: Infinity War has made over [make sure your sitting down] $US 1.1 billion in the global market, and it still hasn’t been released to China yet.
