Amy Schumer Arrested

American comedian Amy Schumer was arrested yesterday after protests over Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The comedian wasn’t the only famous face arrested as well. Model Emily Ratajkowski was also arrested along with 302 other protestors.

Hundreds of people turned out outside the US Senate building in Washington DC to challenge nominee Kavanaugh after three women accused the judge of sexual misconduct.

The Women’s March is a liberal organization that started as a public movement in opposition of President Donald Trump and they were one of the multiple groups tweeting from the protest at the Capitol Building.

A video clip posted on Twitter shows an officer asking Schumer if she ‘wanted to get arrested’ where the comedian answered by saying ‘yes’.

While Schumer told a CNN producer that she was arrested, Ratajkowski took to social media.

Following Kavanaugh’s nomination and his initial hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Christine Blasey Ford came forward with allegations that Kavanaugh had physically and sexually assaulted her while at a party back when they were in high school, which was more than 30 years ago. Kavanaugh has constantly denied the allegations.

After the hearing, Republicans on the Judiciary Committee decided to ask President Trump to call on the FBI to conduct another investigation into the allegations.

On Thursday, the Senate began looking into the information that was provided to them by the FBI. Officials are expected to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination in the next coming days.
